Ingredients
- 1 beaten egg
- 2 1/4 cups milk or light cream
- 3/4 cup soft bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup snipped parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon allspice or ground nutmeg
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 teaspoons instant beef boullion
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 2 to 3 cups of cooked noodles
Directions
- In a bowl, combine egg, 1/4 cup of milk and bread crumbs, onion, parsley, 1/4 teaspoon of pepper, allspice (or nutmeg).
- Add the meat and mix well.
- Shape into about 30 meatballs
- In a large skillet, cook meatballs in margarine/butter half at a time over medium heat (about 10 minutes, no pink, turn to brown evenly)
- Remove meatballs from skillet and drain on paper towels. Reserve 2 tablespoons of drippings.
- Stir flour, boullion granules, 1/8 tsp pepper into reserved drippings. Add remaining 2 cups of milk.
- Cook and stir until thick and bubbly, then stir for 1 minute more.
- Return meatballs to skillet and heat through.
Notes
Serve over wide sized egg noodles.
